Monster bull trout
I had the pleasure of night fishing at a lake in K Country this week and caught a monster 36 inch bull trout. The picture doesn't do him justice.

Nice...I love Bull trout. How was the fight? I know in streams they can be strong and feisty...are they the same in lakes?

This was a river fish on fairly strong current. It was a crazy fight.

They taste just like bald eagle with a touch of golden eagle when they get that big. Just remember to cook them with mushrooms and lots of garlic

Just stay away from the mushrooms that used to grow around the Vancouver Airport ........ you will have Elves chasing you before you know it as you begin to melt ....... as bugs crawl all over your hair .....

36" fish. Wow. Thanks for sharing the picture. Can honestly say I've never seen a 36" Alberta Bull. Ever.

It was 36 inches and estimated 15 lbs by those I fished with. No certainty on the wait but the length was 36 on the tape.

Big buzz bomb on the bottom with light twitches as it rolls downstream. Also the nighttime helped.

Awesome fish Jacen. The fish has a good belly on him as well so he should keep growing.

Awesome fish Jacen! Good pic too.
At an honest 36", that would easily be a 15-16 pound fish.
Thanks for sharing and I am glad you caught her.

Unique style of using a buzz bomb but who can argue the success. Awesome trout!

A buzz bomb topped off with the fly of the day works awesome for Browns in the bow.

wow an honest 36", that has to be the largest bull trout ever landed in Alberta! Congrats! Just goes to show you can NEVER tell how big or small a fish is from the picture alone.

Nice bull! Yeah buzz bombs are great for bulls... I haven't fished for them much but that's the only thing I've caught them on.
