Actually nothing comes free but Midsun and Fish Creek Elementary Schools have a couple playgrounds in need of updating etc. As such they are having an auction to raise money... That is where fishing comes in. They are auctioning off two spots on a Sept 1-5, 2009 fishing trip to the Queen Charlottes. The closest thing to free is cheap! The reserve is $4000 or $4500 for the two trips (fully guided) valued at $6,900 (group discount and includes direct airfare from Calgary to the Queen Charlottes!) which is actually reduced from the regular cost of about $12,000 - $13,000 for the pair. The lodge is donating one trip so $3,450 goes to the lodge and anything over goes to the kids!
Hopefully the mods are okay with this little fundraiser.
The auction is at Dixon's Pub in Midnapore. Time starts at 6 pm on Saturday April 25th, 2009. I strongly suspect these trips will go for a great deal!
