Question Perch Tips Anyone??

So today I was out fishing for pike and I casted out the trusty 'ol red devil and there was about 4 or 5 perch nibbling my spoon. I managed to land one the was 8 inches. So I am just wondering if you guys or gals could help me out with some tips to land some of these guys. What hooks do you usually use for these guys?
I was fishing just before some reeds and in around 8-12 ft of water.

Any tips are helpful!

2" to 3" minnow's are your best bet for bait using a 3/4 oz. bell sinker with a #6 hook 10" up, thats if live bait is allowed. If not go with a dropshot rig using a 1/8 to 3/4 oz. weight and use Berkley GULP ALIVE 2 1/2" minnows.
Fishing weed lines and sand flats seem to be key spots for me when fishing them.

I use an ultra-lite rod, 1/8 oz jig tipped with a small minnow or 1/2 minnow.

Default catch perch

use a leader
attach small hook with a 12 inch line and medium size weight to the leader.
put meal worms on the hook.

if there are perch around you will catch a ton.

good luck.

Use a bobber and small jig, teardrop or small spoon tipped with maggots, minnows or mealworms. Keeping your presentation close to the bottom ( 6-12")is usually the key.

Last Saturday I had a great Perch day just jigging a very small silver spoon with my ice rod. I used Power Bait Maggots and they lasted for 4-5 Perch before needing replacing. Good luck.

ultra light rod and some jig heads about 2-4 inchs off the bottom with maggots... try different colors till you find one that works. stay in less then 10 feet of water.

Actually a number of members have come out to net and take home perch. In the winter we have had some great ice fishing days with a number of members out trying their luck!

We are netting this Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Come to the main gate and I will sign you in to help. I will get you out ice fishing this winter! Best day was 160 perch!
