Default Your hunting rifle?

I'm just curious as to what you guys use for your hunting rifle, or rifles. I use a marlin xl-7 in 270 win, with an older redfield tracker 3-9x40, and sometimes a ruger M77 in 257 roberts.

I use my Rem.700 buckmaster edition, 300 Win Mag mostly. Depending on where I\m going I may take my Winchester 94, 32 sp or BLR 308. This year I'll take my Mosin Nagant out for a try on deer.

I'm currently trying to train myself to use a 300wsm. But all the animals I have ever shot, besides 1 last fall, were with a 303 British peep sight. I think thats my biggest problem with the 300. Trying to get used to using a scope.

For me, it is usually a tougher decision than "Shooter or not?"

It usually ends up being 2 rifles in the truck, and a last minute decision when i am doing final prep at my truck in the morning.

That being said, if I am not in a mood to **** around, just get out and shoot something, I usually reach for my Ruger 77 stainless in 280.

Tikka t3 lite, 30.06, leupold 4.5x14-50, M1 turrets, Duplex reticle. For me i'm using one gun for everything, with the theory of, mastering one gun and one load for deer, elk, moose out to 500yards. The 30.06 spitting 180g bullets in my opinion fits the bill nicely. Lots of bullets and factory ammo, light recoil in my opinion, cheap to reload. I don't need another gun. But i would like more.lol.

I use a Browning X-Bolt in .270WSM with a 3-16 Pentax w/ ballistic plex rectical.
My wife shoots a Remington model 7 in 7mm-08 with a elite 3200 scope with firefly rectical.

I have a few more rifles but they tend to stay in the gun safe.

Will be adding a custom built mountain rifle that I hope to have done by possibly this winter.

I keep switching it up. One of 3 Weatherby's usually will be on my shoulder. I want to try my 94, 7-30 Waters this year on deer, with my boys watching as it's really theirs. Just to show them it works. My wife is a one gun gal and shoots a Weatherby also. Hers is 7mmWby. But I have used a lot over the years. When I tire of the bigbore thing I might get just a couple guns and settle down.

Small game: CZ 452 (.22LR) - iron sights

I've a few other rifles I've bought in the off-season, let's see how they fare...

Sako 7mmrm that I bought when I was about 16. It's the only rifle I've used for big game since I bought it over 20 years ago. Leupold 3-9 on top.

Gonna use my marlin 336 this fall as I have a new area to hunt with lot's of bush and hopefully lot's of whitetails.
