if it was a male brutus would be one of my top choices... hard to think of a female name for a large dog

True Story.

I was with my Father Inlaw going to a guys acreage. We get out of the truck and this Mastiff comes running up to us (friendly) I squatted down and the dog sort of jumped at me puppy-like knowing I was playing. I said "Hey Brutus, how you doing" and played with the dog for a bit. The owner came out and the dogs' name actually WAS Brutus!!!!

Female Mastiff names: Oprah,Kirsty,Jenny,Valerie,Whoopi,Wynonna...

BUT I'd go with: Denali.

"Rexx" is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Rex is "king" if it was male
And bella for female

Since she'll be a friendly giant, why not "Friendly"?

As an aside, years ago I had a little miniature spaniel, had some different habits, and somehow ended up being called "F*ggot". After a couple of years, one of the local cops asked for him, but on the condition that the name be changed, as he was getting transferred to Vancouver and he didn't want to be walking the neighbourhood in uniform asking if anyone had seen a F*ggot! Finally got the dog to answer to "Raggot".

Damn, just found out I can't use certain words that aren't politically correct!

Camilla or Cammie for short. She reminded me of Prince Charles' wife.

Sorry! Poor dog--I couldn't resist though! Ha ha!

But, animal names that end with an ie or y sound generally respond better.

One particularly large cat I had years ago struck me with his size and the fur tufts coming out between his toes, so I called him Clyde, short for Clydesdale; as his paws reminded me of the extra hair above the heavy horse's hooves. Going with the heavy horse theme you could also use Percy, for Percheron.

Harley? I also used to want to name a pet Floyd; not due to Pink Floyd, but just because the name has an interesting sound.

Are you going to feed her raw??

Suede. Cool. The right name will usually be found once the dog arrives or you've had it a couple days. Suede sounds appropriate and the back story is cool.
Our Bull Mastiff (cross) was looking for a name and my brother and I jokingly said we should name here JYD (for junk yard dog) because she was so "mean" looking. lol My wife was standing about 15 feet away and thought we said "Jade" not J.Y.D so now she is named Jayde. The right name always seems to appear.

My other dog is named Zulu, hence my Zuludog screen name. She's named after a Rhodesian Ridgeback that lived down the street from us when I was small. She was a cool dog and I told myself that one day I would get one, I ended up with a chocolate lab ridgeback cross 25 yrs. later. She is as awesome as the "original" Zulu was from my childhood. Not really she's WAY better.

Nice, she was almost called Zulu, as my older dog is Shaka named after the zulu warrior. Her coat feels just like suede, and she seemed to notice her name real easy. Just moved towns looking where I put the cord for my camera.... So I can post some pics
